Chitosan is a linear polysaccharide with good biodegradability, biocompatibility and antimicrobial activity, which makes it potentially useful for biomedical applications, including an antimicrobial agent either alone or blended with other polymers.
Quaternary ammonium Chitosan(HACC) which was prepared by introducing a quaternary ammonium group on a dissociative hydroxyl group or amino group of the chitosan, exhibited improved water solubility and stronger antibacterial activity relative to chitosan over an entire range of pH values; thus, this quaternary modification increases the potential biomedical applications of chitosan in the field of anti-infection.
Applications:
Mainly used to produce polymers,to synthesize all kinds of maromo lecular water treatment agent whose functions are neutralization,absorption,flocculation,purification and decoloring,showing excelent effect in decoloring,killing algae and removing organic compounds in wastewater treatmen,paper making and textile printing,dyeing industry.
It is also used as modifier of synthetic resin to bring products electrical conductivity and antistatic property.
It is also used as additive in daily chemicals to improve and modify products' performances.
As petroleum chemicals,it can be used as flocculant and blocking agent.
Storage
Store in a cool , dry and ventilated house away from moisture.
